MONUMENTAL the movie ... A monumental "Christian" mistake!

..(2) preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. (3) For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, (4) and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths - 2 Timothy 4:2-4

A MONUMENTAL MIS-STEP

Is seems like the Christian Narrative for our country is becoming more and more dilluted with each passing day.  Jesus states in the Gospel of John ... "I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me" - John 14:6.  I cannot find anything within the scripture that states that the Founding Fathers, the Tea Party or the restoration of a pagan Masonic monument will restore America and get us back to the ideals of the 1600's ... can you?  Please don't misunderstand, I am in agreement with my Christian brothers and sisters that our country is in steep decline, but it is becoming clear that the "conservative" side of the aisle is taking a page out of the playbook of the left by ... "not letting a good crisis go to waste ..."

Kirk Cameron (Way of the Master / Living Waters) recently released a film entitled MONUMENTAL: In Search of America's National Treasure.  Cameron is passionate in his desire to preserve the nation for generations to come, but is his desire misguided?  There are many questions that DISCERNING CHRISTIANS must answer before discussing or endorsing this film.  Questions like: Is his presentation of history accurate?  Is Cameron un-knowlingly misleading millions of "well-meaning" down a road that is unbiblical?  Is there another agenda behind the release of this movie? 

It is interesting that Cameron states .... "this is only the beginning" ... One only has to do a google search to find out what Cameron is referring to ... click here to see the number of resources for Monumental.  After viewing all of the resources - let me ask you a question - who are these resources marketed towards?  Will the market be left-leaning, humanistic democrats?  Or, is Cameron and his team marketing this project to conservatives, evangelicals, home-schoolers and Tea Party Patriots ... I think we all would lean towards the latter ....

As you embark on researching this project to determine its accuracy ... I feel it is important for you to understand a few of my concerns surrounding MONUMENTAL ... You can find them listed below:

1. Monument to the Forefathers ... THE monument of MONUMENTAL ...

•  Former Mormon and Freemason, Ed Decker details, "The Monument at Plymouth was not constructed at the site of the Pilgrims' crossing in 1620 and was not erected at God's instruction, by the pilgrims who were the ones who actually crossed. They never referred to any such thing as their memorial or their Gilgal, as it might have been.
  
  
  
  Instead of a set of memorial stones, such as we read about throughout the Old Testament, this Masonic monument rises 81 feet above its base. It is hardly a Gigal.

As you can see, there is more than one reason for the confessing church to be concerned.  We are on the edge of a very slippery slope ... I hope that you take some time to investigate the information contained within this post and discern what action you need to take with the results.



David Barton ... Telling Lies about Jefferson

See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ - Colossians 2:8

David Barton (self professed Christian and historian) has recently published a book entitled "The Jefferson Lies".  Discerning readers only need to look at who composed the foreword (none other than LDS Mormon Glenn Beck) to know what "lies" ahead of them as the thumb through the pages.  I once admired and looked up to David for his "historical perspective" and his deep admiration for the founding of our nation.  Admittedly, I was caught up in the romance of his mythology and worse, I thought he was biblical.  Then I started to READ for myself and began to research the "historical evidence" that David gave in his presentations ... what I fool I had been!  I quickly came to learn that David was only giving half the story ... And, the side of the story that he was proclaiming - was dramatically out of context.  With the "The Jefferson Lies", Barton does his magic to portray Thomas Jefferson as a Christian ... something that is clearly NOT TRUE!

The bottom-line for me ... I can no longer sit back and listen to David Barton and the lies he is weaving (and has already weaved) within our churches. Not only is Barton's message devastating ... his target audience, which are made up of Evangelical Christians, are hanging on his every word and for the most part buying into his false view of history. If you doubt what I just said, answer this question - what will be the largest group to purchase Barton's latest book?  I am sure many home school families already have it in their libraries and are devouring its contents to teach to countless unaware and trusting children - what a shame! 

What convicted me the most has been our laziness (as a Christian community) regarding United States history.  We took what David Barton said as gospel and for the most part ... never really studied or researched what he said in context.  With blind faith, we opened our doors and let him speak from our pulpits - that mistake is on us and we must take responsibility for it - And, promise to be dilligent to speak out against false teaching ... (Acts 17:11)

As I compose this post my mind is racing ... I do not know where to start, what to say or what direction to lead you???  The lies and misdirection(s) are numerous and in no way could be covered in one post on a simple blog.  Here is my plea - Churches stop having this man occupy your pulpits and present to your congregations ... He is a wolf that has been let loose in the pasture.  He is deceiving people by the thousands and I can no longer sit on the sideline and watch .... You shouldn't either!

Think about this for a second ... We (the Christian/Conservative community) have sat and listened to David Barton for years.  We have been mezmorized by his smooth delivery regarding the Founding Fathers, the Constitution and how it all goes back to the scripture.  We fell in love with the story and never bothered to get serious about researching his claims for ourselves - BUT, the un-believing world did AND they knew that for the most-part, we were wrong !!!!! 

Ladies and Gentlemen, if we cannot get our history correct ... how in the world can we expect them to believe us when we proclaim Christ and Him crucified ?????

At this point, I still have many unanswered questions ... I am struggling with feelings of resentment toward Barton, but I also must sift through many feelings of shame due to the fact that I was once deceived and proclaimed his message to people that trusted my opinion ... for that I am sorry!  Over the next few weeks I will be diligently researching many things related to Barton and his view of history - WILL YOU DO THE SAME?  In the meantime, I have provided some "nuggets" that might jump start your research ... I hope they are useful ....

Will Glenn Beck's Restoring Love Rally Be About Ecumenicalism and the Social Gospel?

To be "Loving" now means you embrace ecumenicalism and don't divide on theological and doctrinal issues for success in the culture war and you embrace a social gospel. Will this be the message we hear at Glenn Beck's Restoring Love Rally on 7-28-12 in Dallas?

If you don't agree with Beck's spiritual agenda will that make you a bigot? In 2010 I was quoted in a CNN article on why Christians should not unite in a spiritual enterprise with a New Age Mormon to win the "culture war." Beck talked about the article on his radio program and said, "so now the religious bigotry is there too". I wrote about Beck's comment in a column back in 2010.

Beck's rally will center on a three day event of "Celebration of Service". I believe Beck is really pushing a social gospel agenda along with his ecumenicalism. Recently Beck's website announced his global plan which included a visit to the Vatican. Therefore, may I suggest Rick Warren be a keynote speaker at Beck's rally so Warren can talk about his global Peace Plan, the social gospel, and his ecumenicalism. After all, Rick Warren has proven he can work with Muslims so why not a Mormon? After all there are a lot of similarities between Mormons and Muslims. A few years ago Warren signed the Yale document that declared that Christians and Muslims worship the same god. The document declared:

We applaud that A Common Word Between Us and You stresses so insistently the unique devotion to one God, Muslims and Christians do not worship the same god. Glenn Beck, like Warren, is also pushing a social gospel agenda along with ecumenicalism. Beck's website states:

"Glenn Beck will be reaching out to individual organizations, churches, and more across the area and ask them the question: 'If you had unlimited manpower for one day – what would you do?'…I have said enough words. It's time for me to help hold up the arms of community and faith leaders and serve those who are doing the heavy lifting on healing our nation…It is time to deemphasize the political solution and first demand real change in ourselves."

So Beck is going to rally the churches and faith leaders and Beck is going to help hold up the arms of the faith community?

If Beck is going to deemphasize the political solution that really only leaves a spiritual solution and thus the desire to work with the churches. Are you interested in in the spiritual solutions of a New Age Mormon? I for one am not. Christians should not unite with Beck in spiritual enterprise as declared in Romans 16:17, 2 John 9-11, Ephesians 5:11, and 2 Corinthians 6:14.

Beck's social gospel, ecumenicalism, and global plan seem very similar to that of Rick Warren. In the December 20, 2011 Orange County Register it was reported that Rick Warren is opening the PEACE Center as part of his global PEACE Plan. I believe Warren's PEACE plan is really a communitarian philosophy of bringing together the church, corporations and the government for what Warren has called the three-legged stool.

The Irvine woman is one of about 72,000 people who have benefitted from Saddleback's food pantry since its 2009 opening, according to Saddleback officials. The pantry is one of several services that will be part of the church's new PEACE Center.

The OCR reported:

A permanent larger, two-story structure is in the planning stages. It will house a free health clinic, clothing exchange, warehouse and auto-repair shop in addition to services being offered at the temporary center. So far, $600,000 has been raised through donations toward the $2 million cost of the structure.

In the OCR Warren was quoted as saying:

"This is not for members of Saddleback but for people in the community," he said. "When the final building is built, it will be the first thing people see when they come to the campus. It's not about the church but the hope and love that's in that building."

Nowhere in the New Testament Church description of the church do we see the mandate for the corporate church to focus on social programs for those outside the church. While this could be a ministry for individuals as a platform for preaching the Biblical gospel, it is not a function described in the Bible as a calling of the New Testament Church. The New Testament church is to equip and train its members for the work of ministry-the preaching of the gospel.

Pastor Jesse Johnson put it best when he wrote:

There is a very real danger that has been played out through history repeatedly, that when churches embrace a vision for combating poverty, evangelism is one of the first victims of this altered commission…To guard against that, the church is never commanded to show compassion to the poor as a means for expanding the kingdom. Simply put, you owe the poor the gospel; Jesus died to purchase for them the privilege of hearing the testimony of his death and resurrection (1 Tim 2:6). That is both the most and the least you can give, and Robin Hood ethics do not overlap with the Great Commission.

The most loving thing Christians can do is reject the social gospel and preach the Biblical gospel to a lost world. The most loving things Christians can do is expose false teachers and their false teaching. While these Biblical mandates may be declared hateful by those committed to a social gospel, false teaching, and ecumenicalism, it is not. In Revelation 2:15 God declares his hatred of false teaching. A hatred for and not rallying around false teaching, the social gospel, and ecumenicalism is a hallmark of those that love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength.

Why It is NOT Just A Prayer Event

In August of 2010 it was Glenn Beck with whom Christians were uniting for his "Restoring Honor Rally". I took a real beating from many Christians for stating that I believe that Glenn Beck, as a Mormon, is proclaiming another Jesus and another gospel and that this event would not help America but hurtAmerica.

Even after Beck released his book, Seven Wonders That Will Change Your Life in which he detailed his completely unbiblical worldview; Christians continued to defend Beck stating that he is a good Christian that is teaching truth.

Now, as we approach August of 2011, many Christians are once again jumping on what appears to be the next spiritual bandwagon; a prayer rally being hosted by Governor Perry of Texas and other leaders. The website of The Response, says the reason for this rally is because:  America is in the midst of a historic crisis. We have been besieged by financial debt, terrorism, and a multitude of natural disasters. The youth of America are in grave peril economically, socially, and, most of all, morally. There are threats emerging within our nation and beyond our borders beyond our power to solve.

The reason the "youth of America are in grave peril economically, socially, and most of all, morally", is because they are in peril spiritually and I believe that giving credibility to and introducing youth and adults to false teachers and their unbiblical spirituality is only going to put people in danger of eternal, spiritual peril.

I do not believe this event will aide in reclaiming the country, restoring liberty, or prosperity and it certainly will not prompt God to bless America. I believe such an event will actually hasten God'sjudgment on our nation.

Many pro-family groups have boycotted companies for their support of same-sex marriage. Are these same groups going to boycott their own prayer event now that Perry has announcedhis support for same-sex marriage in New York?

The Response, as this event is being called, is being promoted as a time of prayer and repentance. However, how can Christians and Christian leaders gather together in a spiritual enterprise, a spiritual service, with individuals that embrace a theology and doctrine that teaches a different Jesus and a different gospel? I and thousands of pastors and theologians believe that the Word of God reveals that the teaching of the New Apostolic Reformation, the Word of Faith movement and the prosperity gospel is completely unbiblical.

Worldview Weekend has been warning about the unbiblical aspect of the prosperity gospel for years. Here is alink to one of our DVDs we produced in which Dr. Ron Carlson was warning of the unbiblical nature of the prosperity gospel.

Some would try and accuse me of guilt by association. However, I do not believe those participating in The Response, and other such projects, are guilty by association but guilty by participation. I believe they are guilty of giving credibility to false teachers by choosing to unite with false teachers. Ephesians 5:11 says, "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them." 2 Timothy 3:5 says "and from such people turn away."

It appears that the religious rightin America has openly embraced, for the sake of political pragmatism, the New Apostolic Reformation, the Word of Faith Movement, and the proponents of the prosperity gospel. This is not a new trend. To the shock of many, a strange coalition of religiousactivists united at Liberty University in 2010 and 2011.

Pastor James Robison, on his website, wrote about "supernatural gatherings" and listed "those who attended one or both Leadership Summits along with those who encouraged and assisted in bringing about the gatherings." The list included men whose ministries I have respected but also prosperity preachers I have refuted.

I fear the American church is following in the steps of the "German Christians" that eliminated their denominations and abandoned doctrinal purity in order to unite under the Reich Bishop so they might save their country. Nationalism or ecumenical patriotism, mysticism, and a lack of biblical discernment which leads to tolerance of false teaching are growing in America.

In April of 2011, I wrote an article entitled,
"Christians That Partner with False Teachers and Think They are Defending Liberty for the Sake of the Gospel are Compromising the Gospel for the Sake of Liberty." I warned then, as I do now, that the mixing of evangelicals with false prophets for the sake of the culture war is really an offense to the Gospel. God is not dependent on us to violate Biblical principles in order to be successful at restoring righteousness. How can we restore righteousness through an unrighteous manner? How can we hope to restore Biblical principles within government when we have willingly violated Biblical principles within the church? The end does not justify the means.

God is watching and I contend that our efforts are being thwarted by God as Divine judgment for setting aside Scriptural warnings and uniting with false teachers in spiritual enterprises intertwined with our Christian activism.

When Christians compromise the gospel and unite with false teachers in spiritual and political enterprises, regardless of the political outcome, we will have lost because we gave credibility to false teachers and their false gospel. I believe this is Satan's strategy. Satan has moved his false teachers into our camp as a religious Trojan horse and Christian leaders have embraced the Trojan horse of false teachers.

One of the people listed on The Response website as an endorser is "prophet" Cindy Jacobs. Others listed on the website of The Response include Mike Bickle and members of the International House of Prayer. Scores of articles and reports have been written on IHOP for any discerning Christian to read.

Is It Negative and Unbiblical to Name False Teachers by Brannon Howse

After our Worldview Weekend Rally in Rockford, Illinois on Sunday night November 21, 2010, we were informed that the church we had been renting for the past few years does not want us to return. What is really sad is this is the church in which my wife grew up and has included five generations of her family dating back to her great grandparents on both sides of her family. One set of great grandparents were two of the original 13 founders of this church.

At the conclusion of our November 21, 2010, Rockford Worldview Weekend we were told that three months before the rally the church staff had voted for Worldview Weekend not to return in 2011 because our 2009 rally was thought by some of the church staff to be too negative and that it was inappropriate to name the name of false teachers.

I asked what their senior pastor thought about that evening's Worldview Weekend Rally but was informed that the senior pastor had chosen not to attend the conference.


Please understand that I am not going to name the church because those that attended the conference and live in the area know the church of which I speak. I am not writing this article because of some kind of personal offense but to highlight how Biblical truth has become an offense to most of America's churches.


Many such churches would claim to love truth but what they really love is a man-centered Christianity that helps them obtain success in their marriage, finances, family, and a positive attitude that produces health and a successful personal life without the pain of dying to self, picking up the Cross of Christ and being persecuted for proclaiming Truth.


II Timothy 4:3 tells us that many Christians will only want to hear what makes them feel good and appeals to their flesh; "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears."


The 2009 speakers that joined me for the Worldview Weekend Rally in Rockford, Illinois included me, Dr. Erwin Lutzer and Dr. David Reagan.

In my 2009 presentation I spoke on the topic of my book Grave Influence and I did name such Emergent Church, false teachers as Pastor Brian McLaren who has said the cross and hell is false advertising for God. I named Pastor Bill Hybels that signed the Yale document that states that Muslims and Christians worship the same God. Hybels has also had Brian McLaren at his church. I also mentioned Pastor Rick Warren who sits on the advisory board of the Tony Blair Faith Foundation that seeks to bring the religions of the world together. I also named Pastor Rob Bell who has proclaimed an abundance of heresy and who has also spoken as Bill Hybel's church. I spoke on why pagan spirituality was doubling in America every eighteen months and how many New Age practices had come into the churches of America such as "Christian" yoga and contemplative prayer. I explained how Christian could proclaim the Gospel to a postmodern culture that has become more interested in spirituality than theology. I also warned last year, as I did this year, that many churches are being compromised from within by church staff that do not adhere to the Biblical mandates and purposes of a New Testament church and are an inch deep and a mile wide in their doctrinal and theological understanding and commitment. I warned that the remnant should understand that our greatest opposition would not come from the government but from those that have the title "reverend" or "pastor" in front of their name. In 2009, Dr. Lutzer spoke on seven lessons America should learn from Nazi Germany and Dr. Reagan spoke on 50 signs we are living in the last days. All three of us used a lot of scripture to equip those in attendance to understand the times and know what God would have them to respond.


Worldview Weekend is thankful for the churches that will allow us to rent their buildings but the increasing trend is that we are being forced to rent more and more hotel ballrooms because so few churches have leaders, staff, and pastors that have clear discernment, real courage under fire, and an unwavering commitment to Biblical truth in an age of non-judgmentalism, tolerance, and Christian happy talk.


No one ever said being a watchman on the wall that warns of impending danger was going to be a popular job but if popularity is what we seek then we are not seeking to be faithful to the One we serve and thus we have failed in our calling.


Warning the church of emerging dangerous, unbiblical trends, false teachers, a false gospel, and unbiblical theology and doctrine has now become negative in the eyes of many of today's hirelings. Jesus Himself told us that we would see those that claim to be shepherds/pastors that really have little concern for the sheep. In John 10:11-13 we read:


I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. Worldview Weekend will not be deterred in speaking truth no matter how unpopular it becomes with individuals or members of a church staff.

Needless to say, I was concerned how my wife would respond to this criticism since she was raised in this church. Her response revealed to me, once again, how blessed I am that God gave Melissa to me as a helpmate. Melissa's response was "why are you surprised, you knew this church was becoming increasingly liberal over the past few years. I was shocked they let Worldview Weekend return for the 2010 rally."

Melissa encouraged me to shake the dust from my shoes and go out and find a hotel ballroom. She also encouraged me to continue to bring the Worldview Weekend to Rockford because of all the people, including life-long friends, that come up to her at the resource table to express their thankfulness that Worldview Weekend returns to Rockford, IL each year.


In fact, that night, while standing behind our resource table, a medical doctor, that is a member of this church, handed my wife a letter he had written to his children after last year's Worldview Weekend in Rockford. In his letter he wrote in part:
…I attended a Worldview Weekend Rally at [name of church removed] on Sunday evening, November 22nd, and found it to be very helpful, informative, stimulating and timely."

This father went on to recommend that his children read some of the books written by the speakers.
At this point in time, all three books impress me as being coherent, credible, plausible, relevant, responsible, strategic and timely. I believe that they qualify as priority reading for serous Christian believers and church leaders who need and want to be alert to the crucial times in which we and our families are living."

This letter reveals a common response and a common problem that I have seen all across America-lay leaders that are more Biblically grounded, discerning, and committed to Biblical truth than some of their own church staff.
The Worldview Weekend in Rockford was held at another location a few years ago and has consistently had a large attendance regardless of where it is held. Thus, if you live in or near Rockford please know we will return and have already secured a hotel ballroom for the November 2011 Worldview Weekend Rally in Rockford, IL.


Let me answer the question of our article. Is it negative and unbiblical to name false teachers? The Bible is filled with examples of Jesus and others naming false teachers by name. For example, the Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy names numerous people by name.

2 Timothy 1:15: Phygellus and Hermogenes


2 Timothy 2:17: Mymenaeus and Philetus


2 Timothy 3:8: Jannes and Jambress


2 Timothy 4:10: Demas


2 Timothy 4:14: Alexander the coppersmith


In III John 9, John named Diotrephes.


Jesus called out the false teachers in Matthew 23 and Luke 11.


I truly believe that one reason why God allows false teachers is to provide believers with a test of whether they will be faithful in their Biblical mandate to expose false teachers and thus protect the sheep from the spiritual poison of wolves in sheep's clothing.

Ephesians 5:11 makes it clear we are to expose false teachers; "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them."  If a shepherd/pastor will not point out the wolves that are among the sheep then this should be a clear warning to the flock that the shepherd/pastor does not have their best interest in mind. Such a hireling is not called of God but is simply involved in an occupation for personal gain as revealed in I Timothy 6:5.


In addition, such non-shepherds are revealing that they are more interested in their reputation and being seen by the larger community as tolerant and non-judgmental as defined by the unsaved world. False teachers also give the sheep the opportunity to test the commitment of their shepherds/pastors. If the pastors/shepherds on your church staff fail this Biblical test then it is time for the leaders of the church to replace such hirelings with real shepherds. If this Biblical action is not taken, then it is time for you to find a new flock that has a shepherd that will alert the sheep to the spirituality immature and even wolves in sheep's clothing that are on his own church staff.


Show me a shepherd/pastor that will not name false teachers and I will show you a false teacher. Pastor Jim Bublitz gives further insight into the positive results that come when we name false teachers by name: From those words it is clear that God allows teachers of error for the same reason as He does persecutors of His people: to test their love, to try their fidelity, to show that their loyalty to him is such that they will not give ear unto His enemies. Error has always been more popular than the Truth, for it lets down the bars and fosters fleshly indulgence, but for that very reason it is obnoxious to the godly.

The one who by grace can say "I have chosen the way of Truth" will be able to add "I have stuck unto Thy testimonies" (Psalm 119:30, 31), none being able to move him therefrom. "For there must be factions among you in order that those who are genuine among you may be recognized." (1 Corinthians 11:19). Committed Christians must publically name false teachers because it is impossible to privately correct public false teaching.


This fall I received an e-mail from a young lady that is a junior in high school near Atlanta, Georgia. In her e-mail she stated that because she had attended two Worldview Weekend Rallies in Atlanta and heard me expose the false teaching of emergent Pastor Rob Bell, she had been equipped to reject his false teaching when a Bible study group at her Christian school decided to read one of his books. She informed me that she immediately recognized the name of Rob Bell and remembered what I had spoken. This young lady had the courage and conviction to politely hand the book back to the group and to warn them of Bell's false teaching.

This young ladies testimony has come to my mind many times this fall and has been a real source of encouragement to me to continue to speak truth no matter how negative or offensive it may be to the non-discerning. If I had not named the name of Rob Bell, how would this student had known to reject his book and false doctrine? If I had not named the name of Rob Bell would this student now be spiritually deceived? If I had not named Rob Bell by name would she have been able to warn her peers to this spiritual poison?

The late Pastor Vance Havner wrote, "We live what we believe; the rest is religious talk." Living what we believe includes our willingness to name the name of false teachers and to endure the criticism and persecution that will surely follow. To do any less would be treason to our calling, to our mandate, to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. When we expose false teaching and false teachers we are proclaiming and defending the authority, accuracy, and application of God's Word; the very thing that false teachers seek to undermine.


Living what we believe requires speaking Biblical truth and Biblical warnings no matter how negative or offensive it may be to the spiritually immature, non-discerning or wolves that crept in among the sheep. Jude 3:1-4 commands all believers to contend for the faith that is under attack from false teachers.

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

POST-MODERNISM and the LAW

Last week our worldview course was continuing through "Put Your Beliefs to the Test" - developed by Brannon Howse and Worldview Weekend.  We were discussing evolution being applied to the law and how the Supreme Court of the United States is throwing out absolute truth with their decisions.  These liberal minded justice(s) are replacing truth with post-modern philosophies.  Long gone are the days of Natural Law (Blackstone) and here to stay is case law and one's own definition of truth, morality, and justice.

The case in question is that of Planned Parenthood PA versus Casey, Governor of Pennsylvania.  Background on the case is necessary to see how this court disregarded the quest for truth and injected their own post-modern philosophies into the ruling.  According to U.S. Supreme Court Media, The Pennsylvania legislature amended its abortion control law in 1988 and 1989. Among the new provisions, the law required informed consent and a 24 hour waiting period prior to the procedure. A minor seeking an abortion required the consent of one parent (the law allows for a judicial bypass procedure). A married woman seeking an abortion had to indicate that she notified her husband of her intention to abort the fetus. These provisions were challenged by several abortion clinics and physicians. A federal appeals court upheld all the provisions except for the husband notification requirement.

The question that the court had to consider was can a state require women who wants an abortion to obtain informed consent, wait 24 hours, and, if minors, obtain parental consent, without violating their right to abortions as guaranteed by Roe v. Wade?  The decision of Roe vs Wade was as follows: the Court held that a woman's right to an abortion fell within the right to privacy (recognized in Griswold v. Connecticut) protected by the Fourteenth Amendment. The decision gave a woman total autonomy over the pregnancy during the first trimester and defined different levels of state interest for the second and third trimesters. As a result, the laws of 46 states were affected by the Court's ruling ... it was a 7-2 ruling with only White and Rehnquist dissenting.

In PP v Casey, the Court again affirmed the Roe decision and upheld most of the Pennsylvania provisions mentioned above.  Not only did the Court reaffirm Roe with a 5-4 decison, but for the first time the Court imposed a new standard to determine the validity of laws restricting abortions (that's right, the Court imposed a new standard).  The new standard asks whether a state abortion regulation has the purpose of imposing an "undue burden," which is defined as a "substantial obstacle in the path of a woman seeking an abortion before the fetus attains viability."  Under this standard, the only provision to fail the undue-burden test was the husband notification requirement. 

Justices Sandra Day O'Connor, Souter, and Kennedy stated in the majority opinion, "At the heart of liberty is the right to define one's own concept of existence, of meaning of the universe and the mystery of human life."   This sentence has become known as the "mystery passage", you can learn more about it by clicking here.    Question - What about the part with the Declaration of Independence that reads, "All men are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights." - do we as a nation just ignore that part or throw it out altogether? 

So, what really happened with the Casey decision?  What happened is that man, not God, can now define reality.  Everything within our world is now subject to your own individual interpretation.  This is the very definition of post-modernism ... a world in which people refuse to acknowledge absolute truth.  The moral foundation of our country has shifted and not for the better ... will we continue to be silent under the banner of political correctness? Do you think that Darwin ever thought that his theories would have such catastrophic consequences on the affairs of men ... oh wait, he wrote about himself - chapter 5, The Descent of Man.

In a recent worldview class, after viewing the documentary entitled "What Hath Darwin Wrought", we were discussing the philosophies of Charles Darwin and the effects that his destructive theories have had on society.   To say that many opinions were expressed would be an understatement.  One of the more logical statements expressed was that if an individual today actually believed that they were not created by God and evolved from nothing, it is not unrealistic to say that same individual would not put a high priority on human life.  When destructive theories like Darwin's are incorporated into society and God is left out of the picture and the church remains silent - you end up with tragedies beyond description.  We only need to look back a few decades to see the influence that Darwin had on people like Hitler, Stalin, and Lenin.  The lives lost during the Holocaust alone are a sobering example that ideas have consequences.  And, bad ideas have bad consequences.  Friel and his crew have put together a thought provoking DVD - I encourage you to view it.  Enter Margaret Sanger ...

Margaret Sanger was one of eleven children to a mother who eventually died from cancer and a father who was an activist for women's suffrage and free public education.  Sanger was influenced by the philosophies of her father during her early years, but it wasn't until 1914 that the we began to see the true worldview of Margaret Sanger.  It was in that year that Sanger began publishing "The Woman Rebel".  The slogan of the publication was "No Gods, No Masters" and promoted the notion that each woman "be the mistress of her own body".

Sanger, an atheist, continuously attacked the Christian community and its leaders that opposed her.  Within the pages of her magazine, Sanger spewed anti-Christian and anti-family thoughts and ideals.  As stated by Brannon Howse in his book Grave Influence, she thought of marriage as a degenerative institution and sexual modesty as obscene prudery (page 312).  As a member of the Socialist party, Sanger was also anti-capitalist - stating that it (capitalism) was indecent exploitation - see "What Every Girl Should Know".  These ideas and philosophies were galvanized when Sanger traveled to Europe during the twenties.

While in Europe, Sanger studied and developed a fondness of eugenics and the Nazi Race Purification program (Grave Influence pg 312).  This program was the brainchild of Adolf Hitler ... an admirer of one Charles Darwin.  Not only did the worldview of Hitler and his cronies support the cause of Sanger, but they found their roots across the bond in the United States during the 1940's with the establishment of Planned Parenthood.  Planned Parenthood now has 850 clinics nationwide and brings in over 1 billion dollars per year. 

So let us recap ... Sanger was an atheist, a socialist, and a racist.  She believed in the eugenics movement and put the theories of Darwin into action with the establishment of Planned Parenthood.  Sanger wanted to rid the planet of the "less-desirable" people and thought of it as a good thing for society.  Sanger certainly waged war on God and her actions are still being felt today .... will we ever learn?  May we repent of our sins as individuals and as a nation.  Let us open our hearts and minds to receive the free gift of grace given to us by Jesus Christ .... the only Savior of this world!

GLENN BECK - Dangerous, Deceptive, "Christian", or Hero?

Has the Evangelical Community handed over Biblical Authority for the sake of a Flag?

On 8/28/10, a crowd that numbered hundreds of thousands gathered in the mall to listen to a Mormon call America back to its Christian roots.  Beck was flanked by a spectrum of religious leaders that applauded every time that Beck called for us to fall on our knees and cry out to god.  Some even stated that they heard the gospel preached better than ever before ... which gospel?  Which god?  Below is an excerpt from an interesting article written by Brannon Howse, who has done extensive coverage on the event, detailing many important issues that Biblical Christians must consdier.  I encourage you to read the full article by clicking here.

I Told You The Stage Was Set By Glenn Beck For Rev. Jim Wallis and Him To Start A Dialogue Based on Shared Humanism and Paganism?

On my radio program on 8-30 and 31, 2010, I predicted that Rev. Jim Wallis and Glenn Beck could actually find common ground because they share many of the same philosophies whether they knew it or not. However, I never expected that Wallis would release an open letter to Glenn Beck in less than a week that would acknowledge how close these two really are in their worldviews.

I told my radio audience that the thesis and antithesis of the Hegelian Dialectic Process had been set up between Beck and Wallis and all we need is for the two to synthesis their two worldviews together through the shared ideas of paganism, humanism and good-works, among other ideas, and then a new thesis would be created. I never thought it would only take five days for Wallis to admit how much he and Beck agree and to request that a dialogue begin.
Even if Beck and Wallis do not get together for a formal meeting, the bridge that is possible has been acknowledged and many will jump on this idea in their own minds because of their hunger for unity. This also confirms my prediction that in the coming days this merger will occur with or without Beck and Wallis.
